A Children’s Ofrenda: Honoring Our Ancestors

This year the Sugar Skull Art Walk is offering a unique program specifically geared toward 3rd and 4th grade students. “A Children’s Ofrenda: Honoring Our Ancestors” invites local students to participate in the Day of the Dead tradition by creating crafts in their classrooms and at the Center Street Gallery. Students will tour ofrendas at two galleries on Main Street and contribute to a Children’s Ofrenda to be displayed at the Switchboard Gallery.

In support of the Children’s Ofrenda program, the Placerville Public Library will display an ofrenda honoring writers. The library will also coordinate with the Children’s Ofrenda program by offering Day of the Dead themed story-telling hours for visiting student groups.
